ACC Wellness Center

Located on ACC's main campus, next to Park Arena, the Frederick T. Johnston Wellness Center is open to current, registered students, faculty, staff, and community members for a fee. The Wellness Center features:

Cardio machines
Weight training circuit
Personal exercise programs
Locker rooms
Shower facilities

Policies:

Absolutely no wet shoes are allowed in the Wellness Center.  Please change your shoes in the coat room or locker room.

Please sign in at the front desk.

Clean equipment after use.  Spray bottles with disinfectant and clean towels are provided. Disinfectant wipes are located on the back wall as well. 

Limit Usage time to 30 minutes on each piece of cardiovascular equipment.

Please be considerate in the weight equipment and free weight area by allowing others to work in between your rest periods.

Because of space limitations and liability issues, coats, purses, and keys must be kept in the locker room or coat room.  You may reserve a locker for the semester (limited availability).  Bring your own lock.

Appropriate attire is required.  Shirts are required, as are appropriate shoes (no sandals).  No midriffs. Belts, zippers, and objects that can catch on the equipment are discouraged.  Velcro weight belts or those with non-metal clasp systems are allowed but seldom necessary.

We ask that you please refrain from wearing perfume/cologne/musk while working out in the center.  There have been instances where members have had a reaction or high sensitivity to these products.

Food is not allowed in the Wellness Center.  A water bottle is acceptable.


Membership

Current Alpena Community College students, faculty, and staff receive complimentary membership to the Wellness Center.

The general public is also welcome to join the wellness center at an affordable rate. Individuals must be at least 16 years old.

A paid membership includes access to the Wellness Center and locker rooms. Please
note that gym access is not included in the membership.

*Adjunct Faculty - You may use the Wellness Center for free during the semester you are teaching. For all other semesters, the fee is $50. If you discontinue your role as an adjunct employee, the standard Wellness Center rates will apply to you and your family

**Individuals must be 16 to use the Wellness Center.

*To reserve the gym for a group activity or event, contact the facilities department at (989) 358-7360.  A Facilities Contract is required.  Usage fees may apply.
