The MIOSHA Training Institute (MTI) is an innovative and collaborative program that provides affordable occupational safety and health training to Michigan employers. MTI courses allow employers to meet with consultants and compliance officers, and network with industry peers, to help their company achieve MIOSHA compliance while improving safety and health in their workplace. When you offer this training to your employees, you may qualify for a reduction on any penalties incurred during a MIOSHA inspection in acknowledgment of your proactive safety practices. Alpena Community College is proud to be a co-sponsor of these training classes.

Who Should Attend

These programs are a must for anyone concerned about health and safety on the job including:

  • Managers concerned about liability and workers' compensation costs.
  • Employees who want to learn proper techniques for protecting their safety and health at work.
  • Business owners who want to learn about compliance with MIOSHA.

Why Participate?

  • To reduce employee injuries and illnesses and ensure every worker goes home safe and healthy every day.
  • To reduce the high costs of work-related injuries. Nationally, employers spent an estimated $50.8 billion on wage payments and medical care for workers hurt on the job (Liberty Mutual Safety Index). This is only a portion of the total costs of work-related injuries. Indirect costs such as overtime, training, and lost productivity can also burden employers.
  • To enhance your company's bottom line. A strong safety and health commitment protects workers and reduces workers' compensation costs, improves employee morale, and increases productivity and quality.
  • To take advantage of cost-effective, high-quality safety training.

Cost

  • $94 - Half-day Courses
  • $130 - Full-day Courses
