Alpena Community College is approved by the Michigan Secretary of State to offer Commercial Drivers License Entry Level Driver Training for CDL Class A, Unrestricted, CDL Class A - E Restricted, and CDL Class A - E and O Restricted. All students will receive the JJ Keller curriculum for the Theory portion of the class. Students will then have a choice of which truck they would like to receive behind-the-wheel training.
Pre-class requirements
- 18+ years old
- Possess valid driver's license
- Possess current DOT physical
- Complete DOT urine drug screen within 30 days of the first day of class
- Complete Federal Breath Alcohol Test within 30 days of the first day of class
- Commercial Learner’s Permit (obtained at Secretary of State)
Space is limited.
Employers - alternative scheduling is available for your workforce. Please contact us if you need an alternative schedule.
Upon completion of both the theory portion and the behind-the-wheel portion, students will be eligible to test with a third party for the skills test. The use of an ACC truck is included in the course. Road test must be completed within 30 days of the course end date.

Aerial Rescue/EHAP
Friday, September 29, 8 am-5 pm
- ANSI-based required safety training for arboricultural operations
- Meets the OSHA 1910.269 safety standard
