ACC Takes PrideACC Takes Pride is an LGBTQ+ Allies Student Advocacy Group where ACC students can work together toward education, understanding, support, and acceptance. This group is open to all orientations and lifestyles. The goal of the group is to engage in events in the Alpena community and work with other student groups at ACC to foster cooperation and volunteerism. Beta Gaming ClubA club that facilitates interaction between students, faculty, and alumni of the ACC Network Administration and Computer Science programs, as well as the larger video gaming and technology enthusiast community. This club helps students exercise their interests in all aspects of computer technology, relax a bit during the year with frequent gaming competitions and events, and prepare for highly-prestigious tech certifications offered by the College. Manufacturing Technology Group
This group is a collaboration of Machine Tool Technology, Welding Technology, and CAD Engineering Technology departments to enhance the manufacturing skills through interaction, teamwork, and communications both within ACC departments and the community.
Our Goals
- Facilitate interaction between the students, faculty, and Alumni of all ACC Manufacturing Technology departments as well as industry in the community.
- Introduce other departments as well as community members to the opportunities in the manufacturing fields.
- Enhance the education and experiences of the student members through interaction with industry.
- Give students additional opportunities to study and practice manufacturing skills to prepare them for 3rd party testing and Skills USA competitions.

Outdoors Club
The Outdoors Club is a new club at ACC that encourages students to get outside and explore everything that Northern Michigan has to offer! The group regularly participates in planned activities and group outings. For more information, contact Rob Enslen at enslenr@alpenacc.edu.
Ski & Snowboard Club
This club was created for ACC students and faculty who are interested in the winter sport of downhill skiing or snowboarding. All experience levels are welcome and encouraged to join! Free transportation to and from the school is provided (space is limited) and lift ticket and equipment rental rates are discounted. The club meets on a need-to-know basis. Student Leadership CommissionThe Student Leadership Commission is the student body liaison with College administration and the Board of Trustees. Members gain leadership and group work experience while addressing issues of concern to students and planning a variety of social and academic events throughout the academic year. The Student Leadership Commission is composed of six student members appointed by the department chairs and the president. For more information, contact Meghan Cameron at cameronm@alpenacc.edu.
Student Nurses AssociationMembers take part in campus and community services and social projects. The group maintains an alumni association for graduates from the associate degree nursing (ADN) program at ACC and promotes and maintains the high standards of the nursing profession. The Language SocietyThe Language Society is a collaboration of language learners dedicated to enhancing the foreign language experience of students, faculty members, staff, and alumni of Alpena Community College, as well as community members. Their goals include enhancing the linguistic skills of members as well as participating in community service by using languages for a variety of purposes. Honor Societies
Phi Theta KappaAn honor society that brings recognition to students who achieve academic excellence and demonstrate an interest in their college and community. The selection to the PTK Nu Omicron Chapter at ACC is by faculty nomination. Chapter activities range from involvement in student government, volunteer work for community service organizations and sponsoring speakers on campus, to arranging social get-togethers and educational tours.

Sigma Zeta National Math & Science Honor SocietySigma Zeta (SZ) – This is a math/science honor society which encourages and fosters the attainment of knowledge in the natural sciences, computer science, and mathematics while recognizing the attainment of high scholarship among those inducted into this society. Membership is open to students with a major in mathematics, science, or computer science. Elementary and secondary education students are eligible if their subject area expertise will be in a math/science field. Chapter activities include speakers and field trips to industries of interest. Volunteer opportunities such as working with Science Olympiad are available along with social/academic events of interest to the members.
