Alpena Community College is offering a non-credit Nurse Assistant Training Program on the Oscoda Campus. The program will provide 32 hours of in-seat instruction, 32 hours of exciting hands-on lab instruction which includes simulation, and 32 hours of clinical instruction in a long-term care facility.

About the Program
Nursing Assistants are State Certified individuals who provide basic care in a healthcare setting to patients who cannot take care of themselves. The program has been modified to a more convenient schedule of two days a week for 6-8 weeks. Clinicals are limited to 8 students per group. There is still tuition assistance available through Michigan Works Region 7B.

Program Cost
The inclusive cost of the course is $1500. This will include 1 set of maroon scrubs in the student’s size, a stethoscope, a blood pressure cuff, a gait belt, a course textbook, and course skills software.

Come join us for a new session every other month! 

Requirements
Students must be 18 years of age prior to the start of their clinical rotation.

Certification
Students who successfully complete all sections of the program will be awarded a certificate of completion which allows the student to be eligible to take the state certification exam. The state certification exam includes two parts; part one and part two.

ACC is not responsible if an applicant is unable to pass the state examination or is denied credentialing by the state of Michigan after completion of the Nurse Assistant Training Program.
