CDL (Non-credit)

June 4 & 5, 2026 (Classroom)
- 16 lecture hours in EPTC 163 (8 am-5 pm)
- PLUS 12 hours of individually scheduled behind-the-wheel drive time through June 27; flexible scheduling; full and half-day blocks.

- 16 lecture hours in EPTC 163 (8 am-5 pm)

Alpena Community College is approved by the Michigan Department of State to offer Commercial Driver's License Entry Level Driver Training for CDL Class A, Unrestricted, CDL Class A - E Restricted, and CDL Class A - E and O Restricted. All students will receive the JJ Keller curriculum for the Theory portion of the class. Students have a choice of which truck they would like to use during behind-the-wheel training.
Pre-class requirements
- 18+ years old
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Possess a current DOT physical
- Complete DOT urine drug screen within 30 days of the first day of class
- Complete the Federal Breath Alcohol Test within 30 days of the first day of class
- Commercial Learner’s Permit (obtained at the Secretary of State)
SPACE IS LIMITED.
Upon completion of both the theory and the behind-the-wheel portions, students will be eligible to test with a third-party for the skills test. The use of an ACC truck is included in the course. Road tests must be completed within 30 days of the course end date.
